A personal e-mail, the names have been changed to protect the

innocent.

Trust me Betty, you didn't hurt or upset me. I don't take any

cyberspace material or conversation all that seriously. I see things

differently from most AA's. It's just an organization, it serves a

purpose. But being an alcoholic is just one aspect of my life.

There's a lot more to life than that. As a group, I utilize AA as an

enjoyment, just like I utilize everything else in my life or that I

participate in.

The sponsor thing is most essential to most AAers understanding and

they can't see working a program without one. But that's where their

love goes and that's fine.

If you worried for some length of time that you may have hurt or

upset me, you're, in my opinion, working on something that's not

really related to me. Feel the emotions, grow deeper, grow

stronger. That's all I can say, that's what I do, feel every emotion

that comes along, many of which have no logical reason intellectually

but they're there emotionally. And then while going through

difficult feelings it's important not to act out in any destructive

way, to appease (to bring peace, quiet, or calm to; soothe; relieve)

my feelings by eating the wrong thing, drinking, etc., so that I can

grow through them, grow stronger, grow past that stage.

There are stages to get past, there is greater mental health if

you're willing to try to get there. And if I do anything that I know

is wrong for my spiritual/mental well-being then I'm starting over

again on the mental growth trail, and that includes eating one morsel

that's not raw.

Thanks for your support as far as the " 100% behind you in all that

you do. "

I like that " Whether you believe you can, or you believe you can't,

you're right! " line, it's very true.
