Guest guest
In general, all the models of the Vita-Mix line last for ages, unless you drop them from a cliff or something. I've experienced problems only once or twice, and they've always honored their warranty, as well. The newer models are more powerful, but the older are quite good and still far superior to most blenders. And there is a BIG advantage of the older models, that metal bottle. ALL plastic leaches toxins. (Mine are the stainless steel kind). I have had them for ten+ yrs. I have ground grains & coffee in them & they seem powerful enough for me (however, I have never tried the new spendy models). I paid $15 for my last one 4 yrs. ago & it is still going strong. I suggest keeping your eyes open & buying an older model simply because you save so much$$$!
