Guest guest
Well, I'm watching all these posts go by about carbonated beverages and thought I'd add a few thougts. " Carbonation " carbonic acid added to a food, typically to a beverage. Since we wish to alkalize our bodies, all carbonated foods represent a step in the " wrong " direction. Further, to my knowledge, all carbonated beverages are loaded with sodium compounds, all of which are dehydrating. So when you drink this stuff, you are both acidifying and dehydrating your body. And this occurs even without considering all the other adverse effects of whatever else happens to be in any particular carbonated beverage. Our bodies are designed to eliminate waste through three primary pathways: the bowel, kidneys, and lungs. With every exhalation, we eliminate carbon dioxide, which is carbonic acid broken down into a simpler, less harsh form. Now that you know this, why would you ever choose to eat that which your body works hard to eliminate with every single breath? Finally, if you will pursue the high-water approach I have been describing, minimizing high-fat foods and all other dehydrating foods (nuts, seeds, crackers, etc.), eventually your body will become fully hydrated (perhaps for the first time in your life). As this occurs, your need to consume external water will diminish considerably, and this whole issue of what to drink will largely disappear from your life.
