Guest guest
Hello everyone, I wanted to share with the group that I am starting to feel well - a healthy feeing (Nick says he has it too) where my body and mind feel " right " . I have gone from an unhealthy lot's of cakes, chocolates, hardly no whole raw foods diet to cutting out the refined sugars and replacing them with fruit (6 weeks ago) - in the last two weeks I have introduced more raw foods - cut out as much as I can at this point (this has been such a learning curve and sometimes I want to eat something emotionally - comfort) - I am learning that eating is about nutrition and not about changing the way I feel. (about 75% - 80% raw now) I was taking lots of vitamin supplements - I knew my diet wasn't good - also I was taking Evening Primrose for hormonal imbalances - depressive type feelings and i haven't had any for a few days and normally I would not be feeling like I do - I would have a pretty quick reaction. My mind feels clear and fresh - that's the only way I can describe it - bear with me folks - I am excited by what is happening to us - it is good - do any of you identify with these feelings when you began? Guest guest
Lynn, Congragulations on your feelings may they last a life time ) (and more) I am so looking forward to being in the place you are at right now. I have been there before and want to go back. It is sorta like feeling you are finally home, the trees are taller, the grass is greener, the flowers more beautiful and the sounds of the world are just that sounds of life in the world not irritants. (of course the new smells take some getting used to but all in time) Love and kisses, Lu
Guest guest
Yes, I am starting to feel well - a healthy feeling where my body and mind feel right, and this after only a short time raw. I eat nuts, avocados, bananas and dates as emotional comfort foods. My mind feels clear and fresh - I am excited by what is happening to us - it is good. Guest guest
Hi Lynne, I too am feeling the same as you. I have been eating 2/3 raw for about 2 months now and I can't believe the difference in how I feel, how I sleep, my energy levels and so on. Oh the most obvious to me is my skin tone, I had a grayish looking skin tone before and now it is pink and much more youthful! Even my daughter mentioned it to me and I was surprised that she noticed. I don't ever want to go back to the way I ate before, talk about life depleting! Now when I go grocery shopping I look at all others around me and notice how tired they are, I notice how their carts are loaded with nothing but junk and I notice their hyper children and it's really very sad. But this lifestyle takes a lot of discipline in the beginning and if you can get through that then you're set I think! Rachel
Guest guest
Hello Rachel , I am exactly the same - looking at people and seeing things so clearly - what they are eating and how they look - I was the same - my skin is so improved - it's great isn't it . I just need to learn more now to make sure my food intake has all the requirements - I went onto www.fitday.com and started a page there for myself - it is VERY interesting . Guest guest
Hi Lynne, Yes I can totally identify with how you are feeling. I feel the same way and I am relatively new too (2 months). Isn't it wonderful? swing --- Lynne <niklyn wrote: > My mind feels clear and fresh - that's the only way > I can describe it - > bear with me folks - I am excited by what is > happening to us - it is good - > do any of you identify with these feelings when you > began? Guest guest
Yes but how do you deal with the cravings though to even get to that stage??? I am having a hard time getting past the constant cravings, lack of energy and everything else that goes with it, to even experience what you are all feeling.......*sigh* Regards, Ms Indiana. rawfood , swing bolder <swingbolder> wrote: > Hi Lynne, > > Yes I can totally identify with how you are feeling. Guest guest
I forgot to mention that I also completly cut out soy foods and soy products. There is a couple of great websites that talk about how bad it is for you and how it will mess up your thyroid. (I know it's controversial and some people will not agree with me) For me giving up soy was the key to feeling better along with cutting out junk. Soy was causing the following problems for me; insomnia, depression, headaches, migraines, allergies and fatigue. All of those have disappeared since I have cut out soy. Here's a couple of websites that talk about soy. http://www.mercola.com/article/soy/avoid_soy.htm http://www.soyonlineservice.co.nz/ http://www.foodrevolution.org/what_about_soy.htm Rachel > > Yes but how do you deal with the cravings though to even get to that > stage??? Guest guest
I completely agree with you on Soy. I used to eat SO much (trying to get in enough protein for working out). Now we are doing the raw hemp protein, mixed with carob, coconut and a bit o vanilla in balls. It's fab. Also with the mesquite meal instead of the carob. but you know, even tho that stuff is raw, it still seems pretty unnatural to me. BUT the raw protein and fat really fill u up and kill the craving bug! Rachel <racheladair wrote: I forgot to mention that I also completly cut out soy foods and soy products.
