Guest guest Posted March 15, 2005 Report Share Posted March 15, 2005 Hello everyone - I want to say a BIG thank you to you all for your help in this digest and for the individual mails too - I really appreciate it. We are complete vegetarians and have been for a number of years but we use dairy products and what i now know to be dead, processed food. I didn't know any of this until a couple of weeks ago and this has been mind blowing really. I originally started looking for information on the Internet on food as I am (was) overweight and so i increased my fruit intake and cut out sugar and sweets - the weight started to come of easily - then i came across an article or two that started to make such sense and talked to my husband who is always keen to improve his health. So that is the background to how I ended up here, in this group - I would say we are 50/50 at the moment with raw and dead and looking to change this. My husband looks at the cooker and wonders how he will cope - we are very used to the way we have lived all of our lives - I am 61 years old and I work to keep an open mind at all times, on all things. Today I drank water all morning - instead of decaf coffee with sweeteners) and have eaten sprouts - a mixture of brocclli, radish (lovely hot) sunflower and alfalfa - my seeds dont smell so bad now that i rinse them more - chick pea seeds are wonderful and I like those too. I enjoy my morning foods so much and then the rot sets in at tea time when I cook a meal and it is so hard to break that pattern - I am looking at recipes to make raw foods into a meal.
