Guest guest
Hello everyone - I have just made a bowl of sludge (to my husbands horror!) and informed him that this is " dinner " !! I thought I would improvise and juiced and then blended everything back together - spinach-lemon juice-carrot-green beans-mushrooms - it smells like the garden and is VERY green - it is edible but not too pleasant - HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you all make meals!? I cannot eat raw carrots - teeth not too good at my age - what do I do? Best wishes Lynne P.S. do you have " topics " every week - I am healthier definitely but " cooking " or mixing? Should we use flavourings or mayo or anything - would that defeat the object? Guest guest
hmmm..let's see... with those ingredients, I'd probably use my cool little greenbean slicer (a neat little thing: you pull the bean through, and it comes out destringed, and sliced lengthwise into thirds). I'd chop the mushrooms and carrots, and then marinate together in lemon juice and a little olive oil and nama shoyu, and garlic overnight. I'd serve the mix next night over a bed of washed spinach. I find that marinated green beans without my little slicer just remains too hard without cooking. But chopped into thirds, works great. Or, for a soup, I might (trust me, I've never tried this) blend the carrots and mushrooms and some lemon and olive oil with some sweetener, I I dunno, maybe apricots). I'd probably strain, since the pulp might be a bit much for me. Then chop the spinach thinly, and the green beans very small, and add to the soup. by the way, I've also made sludge for dinner to. The sludgiest mix included sunflower seeds in the soup. And any time I mix red and green, stuff (naturally!) turns brown. And who among us hasn't prepared sludge! Oh, one more thing on the carrots: you can actually grate them with a little water in the vitamix if you've got one. A hand grater works too, or food processor with the right attachment.
