Guest guest
Hi Lynne and all, This reply addresses only one of your questions, about the juicer. _____ lynne66124 [niklyn] Monday, March 14, 2005 1:52 AM rawfood [Raw Food] working on willingness I am going to buy a juicer today - possibly that will help us to consume more raw vegatables - any comments or suggestions anyone? _____ Before you spend your valuable resources on any juicer, might I suggest instead that you consider a high-end blender, such as a Vita-Mix? Blending retains the whole food, albeit in a pulverized form, whereas juicing fractionalized the food (removes part of the food) and hyperconcentrates the remainder. We do best on whole foods, in Nature's balance, and we do not need concentrates of anything, even in cases the medical profession has deemed " terminal. " The Vita-Mix is about $400, but it works GREAT and lasts forever. http://www.vita-mix.com/. Guest guest
In response to this snipet: rawfood , " INFO @ Vibrant Life " <VLinfo@e...> wrote: [snip] whereas juicing fractionalized the food (removes part of the food) and hyperconcentrates the remainder. [snip] Juicers don't actually concentrate anything - they just expel juice. But you are getting tons of nutrients (less the fiber) since it takes, say, six oranges to make a glass of juice, rather than eating just one. Guest guest
Hi Is it important that we juice? Because of my NDI it is hard for me to convince myself that drinking things other than water (6 to 7 liters a day) is refreshing and good for me. But if it is important I am sure I can figure out something. Love and kisses, Lu
Guest guest
You only get the nutrients that are in the orange (since we're using oranges as an example) when you juice it. Juicing doesn't add anything to what's already there. So if you were going to eat an orange you'd get the nutrients from that orange. But if you decided to have a glass of orange juice instead, you'd be getting the nutrients from all of the oranges you juice. While there are benefits to both, I think you're better off eating the piece of fruit whole since you're getting fiber that way too. Hope that helps! Guest guest
Quantity or depth, yes. Breadth, no. You are getting none of the nutrients left behind in the juicing process.
