Guest guest
Hi everyone, Laurie has indicated a preference for http://www.nutridiary.com/. Not entirely certain why, but thought some might like to have this link to explore, as well. I have loaded my pantry with everything I eat that they have on the site, then it takes just a minute to total a meal, a dish or a days worth of food, Blessings, Dale Webmaster http://hishealingways.com - Message: 3 Fri, 11 Mar 2005 21:20:46 +0100 <lalumai Re: Food combining Dale, > All foods - http://www.nutritiondata.com/foods-000006000000000000000.html > vegetables - > http://www.nutritiondata.com/foods-011006000000000000000.html > This is a bit off your topic but I wanted to thank you so very much > for sharing these links. Guest guest
Fresh dates are, generally, very moist. So moisture plus sugar equals a feeding ground for mold. Therefore, dates often dried somewhat. Also, dates dry out naturally in storage. The date harvest come in the early fall. There is huge date crop in southern California, generally in the Palm Springs area. And there are a couple of growers who ship organic dates anywhere. The Date People 760-359-3211 no email of which I am aware Bautista Family Organic Dates 760-396-2337 Ask for Alicia (A-lee-see-ah) The family is Hispanic, she speaks excellent English. Prices vary by type of date. Each farm grows some similar and some different varieties. FRESH Medjool dates are really something. My favorites are Khadrawi, they are smaller, very moist, very sweet. When I serve them to people, they sort of fall over, unless it's someone who really doesn't like sweets. (Talk about damaged taste buds!) Just have a conversation, they're all wonderful people and they love to serve others. Tell them Elchanan sent you, they'll appreciate that, no I don't get anything, other than the pleasure of making connections. elvis pelvis [yogabare_2000] Wednesday, March 16, 2005 7:32 AM rawfood Re: [Raw Food] Digest Number 1122 A fresh date is one that puts his/her hands all over you... Oh...but, when it comes to fruit, a fresh date is one that hasn't been dried. They are not dried to become edible...they are already edible when ripened. I suppose they are dried to make them easier to ship without decaying/fermenting and to make them taste like candy. I'd imagine fresh dates are readily available in the mediteranean, but rare in North America. I found some in Toronto. It took me a while to recognize that they were dates. ___________ Sat, 12 Mar 2005 13:06:08 -0000 " Froggy " <seconaphim Re: Digest Number 1121 What's the difference between a dried and fresh date? as far as I've ever seen they only come one way, apparently dried and ripened to some degree so that they're edible.
