Guest guest
Greetings, If you ask me how I discovered the ideas of the raw-living food way of eating I wouldn't be able to tell you, I think I just stumbled across it one day while searching the net looking for answers to a question I didn't really know how to ask. I was born with Diabetes Insupidus (http://www.ndif.org/ ) and am required to eat in a low sodium low protein way. The raw foods plan made loads of sense to me, as I also do not have the hormone that tells the body that it has food. Upon experimenting with the raw foods recipes I have found around the net I discovered that I am less hungry and even have trouble finishing meals, where as when I ate cooked (dead) food I could finish off a whole large pizza by myself and still want more. I have joined in the hopes to find support and ideas. Hans Kristian (my husband) does not share my passion for this lifestyle while he does support my doing it to the point of tolerating the oven being on 50 Celsius all night he still eats dead food. I have been slowly saying goodbye to my favourite cooked foods while scouring the net for recipes. It is hard to find recipe books for Raw Food non- cooking in Norway and ordering can be quite expensive because Norway still uses the Kroner and it's own economic system. As I have joined many groups on Raw Food many of you have already read this, I apologize but it is easier to write one letter. I hope that as I learn more about this way of life that eventually I can be of the same help to others that I am hoping to get here. Already I have looked through many of the archived messages and gotten the answers to many of my questions. But I have to say that I haven't seen the warning about fenugreek sprouts….how when you eat these sprouts you smell like these sprouts, your breath, your pee, your skin and if you eat enough of them and lick your arm you even taste like them. Sorry had to share, I think it is funny. I may be a bit quite at frist but give me time and perhaps you will get sick of seeing my name in your mail boxes J Love and kisses, Lu
Guest guest
Lu Welcome to the group. There are lots of folks here to share recipes, experiences, etc. One site that has several recipes is www.fromsadtoraw.com. It is a journaling site, but has a section of really great recipes as well. Another group is www.rawfoodtalk.com - folks journal there but post questions/answers and recipes too. Sounds like you are having very positive results from your raw food journey. That is wonderful!!! I felt much better very quickly after starting raw myself. It really works. And, same as you, my husband isn't raw. He still eats mostly regular food, but is finding that he likes many of the things I create, so it is nice to see him incorporating more and more raw into his diet. Every little bit helps!!! Good luck on your raw journey cheers terry rawfood , " Laura " <lalumai@g...> wrote: > > > Greetings, > > If you ask me how I discovered the ideas of the raw-living food way > of eating I wouldn't be able to tell you, I think I just stumbled > across it one day while searching the net looking for answers to a > question I didn't really know how to ask. Guest guest
Terry, Thank you for the links. I need all the recipes I can find as the few I did have are starting to get boring At this time I would say I am around 70\30 raw trying for 100% good recipes are important to helping me get there until I figure out the food combining and perhaps I hope can create some of my own Love and kisses, Lu

That's pretty much the same for everybody, I think, a cooked eater will pretty much admit to overeating cooked food but not overeating raw produce. At least that's the case for me. Cooked food is obviously an addiction. > I have joined in the hopes to find support and ideas. I can be cooked and sad, depressed, anxiety-ridden, etc. one day but then if I go raw the next day I'm happy and content.

Tehehehe i knew someone would ask, when I first met him 7 years ago online and he told me his real name I couldn't call him it and had to call him Kris because every time we talked on the phone and I called him Hans Kristian the Andersen just seemed to follow right behind it.
