Guest guest
I don't know Bryan's precise circumstances, but perhaps you have never had the wondrous experience of trying to self-publish, managing vendors (especially a printer), etc. I have yet to meet anyone who was on schedule with such a project. There are lots of people who ordered the book in December who still don't have it. I'm beginning to question the quality of the book. How you do one thing is how you do everything. Guest guest
Hi everyone, I'd like to take this opportunity to remind all who ordered Bryan's book of the following: Bryan shared clearly, in plain view for all to see, and before the fact, that he was using proceeds from ADVANCE sales of the book to finance its publication. So it stands to reason that everyone would have to wait until (a) he presold enough books to fund publication; (b) he placed his printing/binding order and eventually received shipment of the books; and © he then went through each order, one by one, sending out the books. It seems clear to me that none of us could reasonably expect a precise timetable under these circumstances. And we all knew up front how things might unfold. I sense Bryan's good and open heart and his genuine desire to share knowledge with others. I have no idea as to his particular circumstances, his administrative abilities or support, etc. So I would like to ask everyone involved to reach down inside for a bit of lovingkindness, patience, and even warmth as Bryan works his way through things. All is well -- really!! Best to all, Elchanan Jos Bagdonas [jbagdonas] Friday, March 11, 2005 12:13 AM rawfood Re: [Raw Food] Raw In Ten I ordered a copy on the 28th of Dec. and got it last Sat. I read the introduction, which was decent, he follows a lot of Gabriel Cousins' recommendations, whom I respect. I have not tried any recipes but will do a couple this weekend for a potluck. My first impression is that the book is true to its title, with quick recipes to add variety to a raw diet, thus serving a niche in my raw recipe book collection, ymmv. After I make some recipes, and take Raw In Ten to the potluck to bounce some of the other recipes off of more accomplished chefs, I'll post a review. Guest guest
I can appreciate the difficulties he has-- my point is that he should honor the pre-sales before pushing his book on Amazon, David Wolfe's website, etc. He is really pushing the book, yet where is it? I think that would show integrity, be the right thing to do, and also be good business. blessings, Leslie
Guest guest
Yes, I understand. But we do not know what agreements he may have made just to get the book published. Self-publication is a big undertaking for most first-time authors, they are almost always overwhelmed at some point in the process. I'm not making excuses, just encouraging people to perceive and treat Bryan as I myself would love to be treated in similar circumstances. Guest guest
I agree with Elchanan Hey...we're all in this together and creating unity and synergy that will enhance all of our lives. Bryan took this huge project on because of his passion to help people. All things don't go perfect when you create a start up company, (book) thus the reason its called a start up. Bryan is doing a fine job and in enhancing the living food lifestyle by making it easier to live this way. I tip my hat to him!
