A bit of an arm-waving question, not because of the question, but because

the term " food allergy " is so widely used and misused.

Sometimes, a true food allergy will begin in infancy. If the infant is

introduced to a food, say bananas, before his/her system is really ready for

weaning from breast milk (if there even was any breast milk), the body can

interpret the banana as foreign matter and react. Usually this dissipates,

but not always. But in your case it sounds like it came up later, as a teen.

So it could be some other cause.

In general, to work with a food sensitivity, eat none of that food for

awhile (month+). Then eat a little bit of that food, by itself, preferably

first food of the day (particularly if it's a fruit). Observe what happens.

Along an entirely different path, it is possible there is some emotional

connection, at least with some of the foods. This would require digging

around a bit, in person in some form.

Finally, in the early stages of going raw, most people experience various

cleansing symptoms. There is a concept, called " retracing, " where our body

may actually recreate prior symptoms as it resolves them. I experienced a

LOT of this in my upper respiratory system, for example. If this is the

case, it definitely does pass, and then you're on the other side of the

problem.

Sorry not to be more specific.

[Raw Food] Newbie and food allergies

Hi everyone

I have just found out about raw eating and I am very excited to get

started on it.

I wondered if anyone could give me some advice as I have alot of

food allergies. It started off with nuts when I was 16 and has

spread to apples, strawberries, raspberries and kiwi.

Is it right that these allergies will go when I am on this diet? I

would so love to eat these things again. Does anyone have any

experience of this.

Also Can anyone advise me on how to start this diet with these

allergies? I can not eat alot of the food so not sure where to

start. I dont want to put myself off by only being able to eat the

blander foods.

Thanks for any help.

Ellen
