Guest guest Posted February 22, 2005 Report Share Posted February 22, 2005 As I recall, they are soaked in an antifungal, but not irradiated. But the antifungal DOES soak through the husk to the interior to some degree, never measured to my knowledge. So they are poisoned. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Don't know if they are irradiated though. Lane Does anyone know if the young coconuts from Thailand are irradiated? & nbsp;
If they are does this make them not raw anymore? & nbsp; Thanks.
Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest guest Posted February 22, 2005 Report Share Posted February 22, 2005 Correct, microwaving food is a method of irradiation. Irradiation of ANY life is bad. Mammograms are terrible for women -- some researchers believe they actually cause the majority of the breast cancer. We are designed to live in the sun's radiation, filtered through an atmosphere with a nice layer of ozone to protect us. We are not designed to be x-rayed nor to eat anything irradiated. I don't know what that means but it sounds like something similar to microwaving. Heating something in any way is not raw to me. rawfood , " Helene Lynn " <lanie@p...> wrote: > > It would definitely make them NOT raw. Don't know if they are irradiated > though.
