Rancid Seeds?/ Making Sesame Seed Milk

Oh! Do you suppose those seeds we get at the health food store could be old and

the oils in the hulls a bit rancid, making the milk bitter? I shall check out

places to get them fresher. And thanks for that link (I've ordered their

catalog), BTW...black sesame seeds? Wow! How do they comapare in taste?

i too thought that sesame milk was terribly terribly bitter when i

first made some. >

 

I have made a lot of both white and black sesame seed milk. None of it has

ever been bitter. It actually has somewhat of a light smoked taste (like

liquid smoke) to us making it a great base for soups. Maybe your source of

seeds is not good. I always get mine from http://livingtreecommunity.com
