Guest guest
I was informed yesterday at Jamba Juice that orange juice as a chaser for wheatgrass kills half of the nutrients. (if you drink citrus after the wheatgrass). does anyone know if this is true? I usually do 2oz of carrot after 4oz of wheatgrass, but my DF loves his OJ. is it true? is it true? ?? Guest guest
Wheatgrass is considered a meal by itself. It takes ~ 1 hour to digest the wheatgrass. So nothing should not be eaten 1 hour before or 1 hour after drinking wheatgrass. michele bustos <ixim_mbustos wrote: I was informed yesterday at Jamba Juice that orange juice as a chaser for wheatgrass kills half of the nutrients. Guest guest
I know a couple of barley grass producers have not to drink citrus (especially grapefruit) with the green drink; something about the enzymes or acid interferes with something in the green drinks. michele bustos <ixim_mbustos wrote: I was informed yesterday at Jamba Juice that orange juice as a chaser for wheatgrass kills half of the nutrients. That is odd logic, if it takes one hour to digest why does that mean you should not eat an hour before? Wouldn't that depend on the digestion time of the food you ate an hour before? Guest guest
why would you want to drink something so acidic (i.e. orange juice) after drinking something that is supposed to alkalinize your system (i.e. wheatgrass)? Guest guest
When I was the director at CHI we used to allow the guests to chase the WG with a small wedge of lemon. Not ideal but better than not doing it at all. Guest guest
JOe, OJ doesn't cause you to become acidic. Just because it is acidic doesn't mean it acidifies your overall ph. From what I've learned it when tested it produced an alkali ash. I'm not sure exactly what that means, but I have read overwhelming amounts of info saying OC alkalized your body, too. -- In rawfood , Jos Bagdonas <jbagdonas@s...> wrote: > > why would you want to drink something so acidic (i.e. orange juice) after drinking something that is supposed to alkalinize your system (i.e. wheatgrass)? > > John de la Garza <john@j...> wrote: > rawfood , Darcia Dillard <mrsdill@s...> wrote: > > Wheatgrass is considered a meal by itself.
