Guest guest
I have been eating some nuts again lately and have had a terrible time with them! I've had nausea for three days from eating raw macadamia nuts. Those darn things are soooooooo addicting! I also had stomach pain. I am sure that had I eaten them with some enzyme rich foods, I might not have had such a bad time of it. I think nuts were designed to be eaten in very small quantities and right out of their shell, not shelled and bagged, where one can sit and accidently eat too many! I eat mainly dark green salads, seeds, and fruit. Prefer that after these nut episodes. I can think of one reason why i's essential to soak the nuts and seeds before using~ Raw Chefs. do it to get excellent results with unsoaked nuts and seeds in their recipes. As for grazing on them unsoaked, I would imagine that if you were in the wild, you wouldn't be soaking the nuts before eating, you would probably only get a couple of the nuts open and eat those in their natural state. Because of the nuts outer shell, you would probably be more attracted to seeds, berries & fruit. I have read zillions of books and articles and they always mention the enzyme inhibitors. When I did all that research that I ended up posting this list on nuts, It was in there too and those weren't raw sites, they were fact sheets about nuts and seeds. I have two friends who were able to finally conceive after going RAW VEGAN!! Although Jinjee didn't have any problems conceiving, she is a glowing and awesome example of the raw food lifestyle!! She has gorgeous RAW children and her raw pregnancy was amazing according to her fantastic book and the pictures on her site.
Guest guest
Angela, I haven't eaten macadamias in a while, but I got the feeling, or maybe I read somewhere, that they go bad rather quickly when they are shelled. Besides the fact that you ate too many, it's also possible that they were rancid to some degree.
