Guest guest Posted January 10, 2005 Report Share Posted January 10, 2005 I'm making my first potato chips and sweet potato chips in my new Excalibur. I have not had a chance to really do any in depth research...but one place in the book that came with the dehydrator said to blanch the potatoes by steaming them. Won't do it. Will they still come out? And I'm unable to get them paper thin with the kitchen tools I have. Both my processor and salad spinner with slicer, have medium thick blades. Will they come out? I didn't have too many spices on hand here at the duplex so I just tossed them in olive oil and sprinkled liberally with Spike, my old standby. Ideas? I'll experiment and look for a thinner slicer.
