I disagree.

I know this is a common claim by raw food gurus, but I

disagree with them and this post.

Until a thorough examination of just what happens in

the stomach when the chewed up nut, along with its

nutrients, is broken down, such claims are purely

speculative, and, I think, fallacious.

If there has been some study of this digestive

phenomena, please enlighten me.

I eat nuts without any soaking, and have no problem

with them. The idea that " enzyme inhibitors " prevent

the nutritional substances in the nut from being

utilized by the body seems like nonsense to me. Do the

enzyme inhibitors survive intact in the presence of

hydochloric acid? I doubt it. They are broken down

just like the proteins in the nuts.

I rarely soak nuts. And seem fine with them. The only time I soak a nut is if it

is too hard to chew and hurts my teeth. Lane (who doesn't dehydrate, use spices

or recipes etc etc. ....I just eat the & $$@*) food.
