Hi Sleigh, I am with you. I have tried cutting back on my fats, but find

myself too hungry. I do not soak any of my nuts/seeds either and enjoy a

variety just as you do. I also do not have a problem with weight, but lose too

much if I cut back calories. I am 5'9 " and weight 120 to 125.

Hi.

My transistion to crudivorism is going reasonably smoothly, but I have yet

to embrace the notion that I must presoak seeds and nuts before eating them.

Even though I read more and more that fats should be eaten sparingly, I

continue to depend on them at every meal for their powers of satiation.

However, I never soak them. I have certainly tried soaked nuts, but guess

what? They are, well, horrible. I can't think of a better way to transform

a nice almond into something terrible than by soaking it overnight. They

become watery and soft and the flavor changes considerably. Not tasty! For

the record, I eat only raw nuts and seeds, with almonds, brazil nuts,

cashews, pistachios and filberts seeing the heaviest rotation. I sometimes

in coconuts as well. As for seeds, I guess I eat mainly pepitas and

sunnies.

I eat as many as 150g fat/day with all these nuts, yet I am rail thin.

Hence, I wonder if the natural enzyme inhibitors within these fine nuts is

rendering them much less caloric than I imagine. What has been your

experience?

Thanks for reading!

Sleigh
