Guest guest
Hi David,Whey is the ingredient I was thinking of when I said it wasn't vegan. Whey is not vegan as it is a milk product. In order to be sure you are using a vegan product, you'd want to be certain to buy either their products from their "Light" line or their organic offering. However, this is just based on responses to the question as it was posted online. It could have changed to include more products or no longer be true. As I said in an earlier email, one respondent to the question said the vegan products do have VEGAN in bold type near the nutrition details. I will let you know what I find tomorrow. ~ ChrisDavid Smugar <david_smugarDavid Pham <smbabies; Jingwu Zhang <jingwuzhang; Chris Marco <marcletonCc: Bob Linden <meatfreeamerica; Sent: Mon, May 10, 2010 8:01:31 PMRe: Hi, Chris. Yes, if their products are vegan, we will have another buttery spread to use in addition to Earth Balance. My question for them would be regarding the word "whey" on their list. Since I am now in Taiwan for Loving Hut business, time is short, and when they are open in Colorado I hope to be sleeping, please let me know what you find out. And thanks so much for looking out for us. Loving Hut International is committed to 100% vegan ingredients. From what I had read it appears that certain products are vegan, while others are not. If you have confirmed with them, then I'll assume they have made changes to their ingredient lists since the posts I read online were made. I'll check the Smart Balance at my local Safeway and perhaps I'll give them a call tomorrow as well. If this is true that all their products are now vegan, this will be great news for vegans since Smart Balance is much more widely available, and less expensive, than Earth Balance. Thanks again,Chris David Smugar <david_smugarDavid Pham <smbabies; Jingwu Zhang <jingwuzhangCc: Bob Linden <meatfreeamerica; marcletonSent: Mon, May 10, 2010 7:38:00 PM Greetings, All.
