Guest guest
Carol J. Adams just released the 20th Anniversary edition of " The Sexual Politics of Meat: A Feminist-Vegetarian Critical Theory. " Has anyone read the original version and could comment on it? I heard an interesting interview on KPFT Houston: http://archive.kpft.org/ (scroll down to " Vegan World Radio " Wednesday, May 5th air date). Another book out last month is " Sistah Vegan " by A. Breeze Harper. It sounds fascinating. Has anyone read it? http://web.mac.com/sistahvegan98/iWeb/research/Home.html These could be good for a book club session! I find it wonderful that so many vegan-related books are coming out, and I'm noting how the meat-promoting faction is really struggling to keep up. They can't win, so they should just join us already! Aloha,Donna
Guest guest
Hey All,I flipped through Sistah Vegan and immediately starting referring people to it!You might also like to know that I just met Marti Kheel last weekend, author of Nature Ethics: An Ecofeminist Perspective. Her book may have been out for a short while already. It is greatly researched, strongly vegan, plus she lives in the East Bay and talking with her was very enjoyable. All this, as well as Adams' new release at the 20 years anniversary of the Sexual Politics of Meat, makes this an exciting time.Blessings,MichaelEat-Reel: Bringing Greens to Movie Screenings and Making Disease Has-Beens Inspiring Wellness Choices through Film, Coaching, and EventsThe Bay Area Chapter of the Movement to Naturally Reverse T2 Diabetes and Preventable DiseaseTherapeutic Documentarian and Community Wellness Teacherwww.eat-reel.orgc. 520-604-1262On Sun, May 9, 2010 at 4:31 PM, intheVeganhood <govegan wrote: Carol J. Guest guest
Donna, I heard Breeze Harper speak last weekend at the Farm Sanctuary Hoe Down event. She really is fascinating. Her talk was VERY academic and the sound system was acting up making it very hard to hear, but it motivated me to read the book.
