Guest guest
Rainbow now has " We Can't Say It's Cheese " in two flavors: Cheddar-Style Spread Hickory-Smoked Cheddar-Style Spread http://www.wayfarefoods.com/node/5 This is the cheese that is made out of OATMEAL. Can you believe that? We tried the hickory-smoked cheddar-style spread on crackers. It was super-yummy, and addicting! We tried melting the regular style in the microwave and using it as a sauce for broccoli. That was good, although I might need to add something to make it outstanding. Will keep experimenting. The recipe page says the " spread " (which is what they have at Rainbow) is good for grilled cheese sandwiches. Will try that for supper tonight! Right now it seems Rainbow only carries the " spreads " ... I'm not sure how much of a difference there is between the " spreads " and the " dips " ... probably the " dips " are more liquid-y. On the recipe page, it says you can use the " dip " version to make a melty-salsa-cheese mixture, or to mix with quinoa to make cheesy quinoa, or to mix with pasta for macaroni and cheese. Of course I'm going to try these ideas with the " spread " since that's what I've got right now. They also say you can make a cheesy pie crust out of this. Interesting! Here's the recipe page: http://www.wayfarefoods.com/content/recipes-using-we-cant-say-its-cheese Tammy, I like your idea of hosting a vegan cheese party. I would like to volunteer to host, in the month of May. Will get back to you on that! Take care, Rachel D.
