Background on Civic Center campaign:

Since April of last year, LGBT Compassion and AoC has been filing

complaints and taking legal measures against bird vendors exercising

animal cruelty, while monitoring their activities.

Although Civic

Center has been a challenge, particularly with the primary vendor,

Raymond Young Poultry, we have been able to get media attention on this issue, as well as have impact on other vendors acting outside the law.

Because of the lack of action on the city's part against this animal

cruelty, we're successfully amplifying attention with peaceful demonstrations.

CAMPAIGN UPDATE:

We have just completed our latest demonstration on Sunday, the 21st of March.

Demonstrations have been particularly successful for the last two weekends, passing out approximately 500 leaflets per demo!

We have been surprised at the positive response we've received from so many patrons, as well as a majority of Market vendors.

WE STILL NEED MORE ADVOCATES!!!

We are pleased with our effectiveness but it would improve efforts to have more advocates join us at this event.

We could use your help.

We've

been able to get market attention and make a statement (we were

certainly noticed!), but we need more people if we want this to be an

effective campaign.

For further info on this campaign, please refer to LGBT Compassion.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you.
