great article, it was VERY well written pro-vegan. If all

vegans look like her, people will listen to us.

I think it’s super hard to get the message across

people. We are fighting against $billion dollar advertisements that advertises

$3 meals, which by the way, includes drinks and fries! Gosh it’s hard

to turn down a deal like that. People will get addicted to those types of

food for life. They will later whine about not able to get health coverage for

all their sickness from Fast foods.

I feel we are like David fighting against the Giant Goliath;

Us Veg Folks against Fast Food Industries/Poor Food Choices.

In the End, David won….but how long will it take to

win? ? 100 years:?

Hi Winnie,Thanks for the link - you are always so connected with what's out there in the media! The Kind Diet is a good book. Lots of hows and whys for the new (or old) veg*n, but it's not presented in a snooty way at all. Last weekend, my family enjoyed a complete vegan meal, using only recipes from the book. I shared the cooking with my sisters and it was a great success. We had 1/4 each of the Thin Mushroom Pizza for appetizers, Alicia's Magical Healing Soup, Tofu with Orange Sauce, Moroccan Couscous with Saffron (and butternut squash), Gingered Green Beans with Hijiki (used asparagus instead since it's in season), and Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups for dessert. One sister, who told me last year, " I'll never go vegan, " is now cooking from that book with a vengeance! There is hope everywhere!!

Will Tuttle said at the Great American Meatout yesterday (SF Main library), that as we each continue to work hard to spread the message of an all-inclusive sphere of compassion, once we reach 10%, then we will have reached a " tipping " point of critical mass. After that, changes would happen more rapidly, because the old infrastructure will be changing as well. Take heart, winnie, just note how many vegan books have come out in the past year alone, not to mention all the blogs, and even reports and interviews in the mainstream media (many that you have spotted for us). This has never happened before!

And don't let the naysayers get you down, either. There were plenty of those when the first inklings of global warming came out, and now they (the early naysayers) are the crazy ones, not the other way around.
