Academy of Science has something like this on their museum display, but it didn't seem to change the manager/owner who was in charge of the Academy's cafe menu.

Is your lunch today causing global warming?! Did you know that the food system is responsible for approximately 1/3 of global greenhouse emissions? With every meal you eat, you have the power to reduce climate change.

Check out the Bon Appétit Management Company's Low Carbon Diet Calculator, designed to allow you to compare the relative carbon impacts of your food choices.

By dragging food items into the frying pan you will be able to calculate the carbon emissions created by your meals. Additionaly there are tips for going on a low carbon diet and more information about how the choices you make impact climate change.

Also check out our resources page to learn more about the connection between climate change and the food system.

P.S. We've gathered 1700 messages to thank the USDA for their recent efforts in support of local food - and to urge them to continue the momentum. We need 300 more before I go to Washington DC and present them in person next week. Please take 30 seconds to follow this link and add your voice to the movement for more locally-grown food.
