Guest guest
Hello BAV!No, you can't rush down and get a free lunch. The Tofurky is for meat-eaters, not people who are already veg! More people are talking about veg holiday meals this year than ever before. If you have a friend who is considering vegetarianism, please let him or her know about these events. And remember how easy this is to do yourself. Try bringing a big stack of Tofurky sandwiches to your office this week with a bunch of your favorite vegan recipes. Your colleagues may feel nervous about buying a package of fake meat on their own. But if someone they know hands them a free sample, they'll try it, love it, and then be one step closer to vegetarian! We handed out 400 Tofurky sandwiches at Jack London Square 2 weeks ago. They were gone in less than an hour, with Veg Starter Kits. People loved the Tofurky and several came back to say that they had been curious about it, but didn't know how to get it. They said they would " definitely " buy it again. I didn't hear a single person say they didn't like it. Our sandwiches had plain bread, 4 slices of Tofurky deli slices (hickory smoked), Vegannaise and lettuce. Couldn't have been easier! Ask the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals and your answer will be: go vegan! If you're already there, or are thinking about turning off the meat this year, why not try it for free? PETA is taking that approach and giving away the meatless alternative to the traditional dish: Tofurky Roast. For those unfamiliar with the language, that's a tofu version of turkey. PETA members have been known to spread their message by barely dressing in anything at all, but for this event, two of the group's members will be dressed as turkeys. " Animals on factory farms never get a holiday. The 40 million turkey carcasses that U.S. shoppers buy each Thanksgiving represent only misery, " said PETA senior campaigner Ashley Byrne. The giveaway will be hard to miss.
