Guest guest
To celebrate Thanksgiving, PETA's humane education division, TeachKind is celebrating what we're thankful for: turkeys! Turkeys are intelligent animals who enjoy having their feathers stroked and listening to music (and they often sing along quite loudly!). In nature, turkeys can fly 55 miles an hour, run 5 miles an hour, and live up to four years. To commemorate the holiday and help students learn more about who these sensitive animals really are, we're offering teachers and their classes a chance to " adopt " a turkey! The winning class will get to name a turkey who lives at Poplar Springs Animal Sanctuary in Maryland and will become the " adoptive " parents of the turkey. The winner will even receive a picture of the turkey to hang up in their classroom! If you're a teacher and want to enter to win, comment here (http://www.facebook.com/pages/TeachKind/262902450432?ref=ts#/note.php?note_id=1\ 66468858403 & id=262902450432 & ref=mf) and let us know what your class would name the turkey if you win. Not on Facebook? You can also enter by e-mailing Info. The contest ends on November 20. The most creative name will win, and we will contact the winners on November 23! Be sure to read our privacy policy (http://www.peta.org/priv.asp) and terms and conditions (http://www.peta.org/terms_conditions.asp), as you're agreeing to both by e-mailing us your entry or commenting on Facebook. If you're not a teacher, pass this along to any educators you know!
