Guest guest Posted October 26, 2009 Report Share Posted October 26, 2009 Hey leaders in the effort to make the world a more compassionate place!I would like for us to step up the outreach we (myself included) are doing for vegetarianism in the Bay Area. I'm wanting all of us to have a calendar of events that are good places to do outreach -- festivals and concerts, in particular -- events where there are hundreds or thousands of potential vegetarians gathered. And then I'm wanting to identify who the people are who want to do outreach (obviously people will have different availability, but some people want to/are willing to do outreach and some don't/aren't). We are blessed in the Bay Area to have a number of very experienced activists, and I'd like to see where I and others who have done a lot of outreach can offer training or support to people who are new to it or nervous about it. It's very natural to have concerns about it at first, but it's a very learnable skill. I'm willing to make myself available to support anyone who requests it. I also have a TV and generator that anyone can use to show footage of factory farming. Please let me know if you would like to step up to help create the calendar (this is a perfect thing for someone who has some spare time at work or otherwise in front of a computer, and I'll support with this), do outreach, or get training or support in getting out there.
