Hi!

I know within this network of animals lovers we get a lot of sad and hard news

to swallow. And we all keep pushing forward helping animals live a better life.

I wanted to share a positive story to hopefully give people a smile for the day.

I posted to this group approx. a year ago about my cat Buster and his aggressive

behavior. Long story short, he was abused before I got him and his aggression

was unlike I have ever seen before. He took out his aggression on me and my

other cats. I had worked with many cats in the past successfully. But I'm not

sure what this little guy went through, he couldn't shake it. So, I posted for

some advice from the group. I got a lot of great feedback and advice.

Unfortunately, it was stuff I had tried in the past. But I knew if I gave him

away, he would probably been put to sleep. This group gave me great support and

I kept trying new things.

Now a year later, giving him little time outs when he's aggressive, treats/time

alone with me when he is good, and for whatever reason - vanilla scent (funny,

huh?)...he is now follows me around, sits close by me when I'm reading/tv, purrs

constantly, overall friendlier to the other cats, and when he wakes up - a

little headbutt to me every morning!

He still needs a little guidance. But now the other cats are calmer, they all

sleep together, and Buster seems to be in a happier place.

Not sure what the moral of this story is...but if you believe in giving kindness

to others (humans or animals), they can soften up and give it back. If that

doesn't work, try vanilla scents. :)

Thank you everyone who helped me through this a year ago.
