Guest guest
Thanks, Karen, for the clarifying reminders!!New and trying lots of diff lists w/ diff rules, which I should read all of first, as I continue my home-search. Here's my second try to yours, thanks for posting it?? Lovely Garden 2/1 Alameda Available NOW OR 11/1 for 1 or 2 Veggie F's! Saturday, October 03, 2009 1:01:48 PM TEA ARTEMIS <pula.services " Vegetarian Activists Bay Area " $700/mo +1/2 for a single female (any age, LGBTQI friendly Vegetarian), or $800/mo +2/3 for a committed lesbian couple to lease (min. 6 mos, longer negotiable) the larger more private bedroom, sharing the peaceful yard and big living room and bathroom with me, a life-long Vegetarian and Animal Rights Activist, and my super fun, hypo-allergenic Service Dog (SD). Hablo Espanol and lived in Africa 5 yrs, w/ a diff.dog. Sylvan and I are the ideal housemates as we take frequent trips, often internat’l, w/my SD ALWAYS at my side helping, leaving my locked bedroom and no plants or favors to ask of you. In Oct. we go to DC to work again w/ the Humane Soc. and WWF, in Nov. we work here w/ Hospice (dogs and w/ kids in grief recovery), and always active training the public in ADA SD accessibility. You come/go as you wish, and we communicate well re what food to cook together. My preference is to buy all groceries together and split the costs along w/ other utilities, factoring in time home eating. Most of my 42-forever yrs have been spent in VT running organic farms including truly happy milking cows and goats, sharing their udders with their kids/calves and us, so I'm not vegan when I can find that rare happy dairy product. I helped Ben & Jerry's go cage-free and organic only, yrs ago. I’m lifelong vegetarian, having rescued and raised many carnivores. While some can thrive on the new vegetarian petfoods, my K9 SD is so sensitive- stomached and hard- working (hauling me up stairs/hills!) that she won't touch anything with grains in it at all, and was starving when I rescued her. So her expensive salary (after trying 18 dif diets) is Natural Balance Venison supplemented by checked free-range organic meat. You can feed your dog whatever it does best on, and mine loves to play w/ y'all on all breaks. So you are quiet female(s) without overnight male guests and with NO SMOKE, even outside in our big shared yards. We enjoy limited alcohol, and soft music or tv limited to our cabled rooms, I’ll just have internet and the occasional video. This apt I love most of many looked at has best of all worlds: your private big bedroom up a flight of carpeted stairs so I won’t hear you up there, in my carpeted bedroom below. Ground floor entrance in back of huge converted Victorian with only 2 apartments, so quiet. We share the big yard and driveway w/ the same big type of house next door, so a total of 4 apartments, 3 of us have dogs which will play in the big yard; we have our own slider glass doors to private patio and small garden, and private front door on the side, giving great cross breezes. They say no (more) pets on the lease, mine’s a Service Dog (SD) so you get to share her fun love when we’re home. If you have one too, we can negotiate w/ the LL or look at other places. She helps me swiffer and clean the counters, and maneuver a few steps, daily. I have help come do the heavy cleaning once/week, including big Hepa-vac altho she's hypoallergenic. I don’t drive any more so it is accessible (within 3 flat blox easy walk) to 2 different major busstops, a park, a mall w/restaurants, shops, streetfairs, etc on lovely safe Alameda – a few blocks from the beaches and dog parks. I have to be out of my current too expensive, big but sparsely furnished house by Halloween. By signing a lease we are both protected from the ripoff artists who run rampant in this economy of desperation; without fear I moved to the expensive Bay area for FUN early retirement, and I’m about to find it! But, recently on disability income, I can barely afford a 2-bedroom, so would also consider a 3-bedroom dog-friendly that you find, as long as my share for my ground-floor bedrm and a bath shared only by 1-2 Fs is 550+ split utilities. Let’s meet over fair-trade coffee or an evening at an Alameda pub to discuss our lives and lifestyles, see if we are compatible to share HOME, with a minimum 6-month lease binding us together, amigas. Write me! I’ll write back as I travel again much of Oct (helping keep Marriage Equality in ME and animal rights protected federally), and return to move my home office and books to this or another signed on apartment in flat fun active E.
