My friend Mark and I distributed Vegan Outreach booklets at eatrealfest today. While some people were receptive, this "festival" is overwhelmingly about meat. I spoke with a couple of Slow Food volunteers who admitted that animals are harmed in the making of this movement. Fast food or slow food, animals die, and both are about putting people first.

 

We will be at the KFC boycott in SF tomorrow, but may make it to Oakland later.

This is current information:

Agribusiness is experiencing in a decline in "hog" sales and is pushing the US Dept of Agriculture to purchase $250M in "pork" to distribute to the US schools food program. These reports are available on the US Farm Bureau site and on the AG Day and US Farm Report websites and broadcasts.
