Guest guest Posted August 28, 2009 Report Share Posted August 28, 2009 Hi all I had an opportunity to try one of the new dishes at Herbivore that Alex mentioned at the Valencia location - the orange beef with vegetables over rice. I was pretty disappointed in it. There was some orange flavor to it, but was pretty tasteless. It was fake meat, some red bell pepper and onions over white rice. At $10.50, overall, pretty underwhelming ..... I'd much rather order this type of dish at Merit (or Golden Era / Golden Lotus ) -- it'll taste much better. Millennium had a stroganoff years ago, and I seem to remember it was soaked in booze. I think I was expecting the Herbivore version to taste somewhat like my memory of Millennium's version, which probably isn't the fairest comparison. The other dishes sound better, and I'll give those a try next time.
