Guest guest
Dear Sfbayeg,I am finishing my PhD on animal studies and spend most of my time reading animals rights book and fiction books with animal messages. I would like to join or both of your books clubs on these topics and learn what others think about these books. What is the best way to join? Yours,Vasile StănescuPhD Candidate Program in Modern Thought and LiteratureStanford University vts650-303-5615
Guest guest
Hi Vasile & everyone Thanks for the opportunity to mention the Bay Area Vegetarians' book clubs! There are currently two, the "Vegan Book Club" - reading general fiction, and "Food for Thought Book Club" - reading non-fiction books, alternating between philosophy-oriented items on even months and books related to veg/animal rights on even months. The Vegan Book Club has high interest, and we really need someone to organize a new Chapter as the current one is close to full or may be full (Lisa, I'll let you add on more about this?) The Food for Thought Book Club has a core group that attends regularly but we always have room for new folks to join as not everyone attends all the discussions that are now happening monthly. The next book is a biography about Henry Spira. The next two book club meetings are: 09/19 Food for Thought Book Club: Ethics Into Action (new members welcome) - SF 09/20 Vegan Book Club Discussion - SF Cheers,Tammy
