Guest guest
thanks jack! i DID find that interesting, in a sort of peculiar way.... dr. knight (who is in support of feeding cats vegan cat food, for those who have not had a chance to read through all the articles yet) continually states such things as there is "absolutely no scientific reason why [vegan] diets" can't meet all the nutritional requirements of cats. big problem: when claiming something is true, which would counter our expectations, the burden of proof is on the one making this assertion, not those who are continuing to think what is generally thought to be true... ....such as: carnivores need to eat other animals. i found the fact that this exchange actually occured within a "scientific" journal...to be a sad statement about the so called "science" being published in this journal. beyond that, dr. knight is clearly misplacing the burden of proof. to clarify my point: if someone decides they'd like to believe the moon is made of cheese, the burden of proof would be in their hands, not those who have the misfortune to put up with this obviously ridiculous statement. i am not saying it is impossible for cat's to survive on vegan diets. at the same time, being an ethical vegan, i feel strongly against: A. testing this hypothesis on animals in laboratories on unwilling nonhuman animal experimentees, and B. testing this hypothesis on animals in our own homes, since, as an ethical vegan, i am against testing on animals whatsoever. ~will^3 ========================== ==== ==== ==== == ============== ==== ================ ==== == ======== ========== ========== ========== == me = (pythagorean + beans).
