Guest guest
I love this bike ride! TOUR d'Organics!I went the first year.It was 2005 ... four years ago! With Erhhung! It was AMAZING! Such a fantastic, fabulous day, and such great vegan eats, fresh fruit from local orchards is just about my favorite thing in the world. Winnie, that is so awesome that your car will be one of the Car Shuttles this year. Are you riding your bike in the event, too?Winnie, here are my pics from Tour d'Organics, if you want to travel down memory lane. http://brightstar.smugmug.com/gallery/755015_DdmVW#33301905_SUcVdI'm sorry to say I won't be able to go this year. I am in grad school and my weekends are mainly dedicated to research and term papers, etc. I am graduating in June 2010 and excited about getting my weekends back, next summer. Thanks for remembering me and how much I enjoyed Tour d'Organics. I'm so thankful that they have been so successful and keep getting stronger and better each year. In this economy, so many valuable things are being cut, and it's wonderful to see the Tour d'Organics continuing forward. I will definitely plan on it for next year.Hurray for Tour d'Organics!-Rachel--- On Wed, 8/5/09, sunny_outdoors <sunny_outdoors wrote:sunny_outdoors <sunny_outdoorsSun, Aug 9, deadline to register Vegan Tour de Organics Date: Wednesday, August 5, 2009, 11:15 PM http://crm.organicathlete.org/civicrm/event/register?id=12 & reset=1 how many other local vegan organic bike rides are there? Guest guest
Rachel, Thanks for the pictures from memory lane… (on a side note, one of my favorite rides around La Honda towards Pescadero, there’s a small street called Memory Ln—I laugh every time I pass it). I have just about been to every one of the local Tour d’Organics rides, but I’ve decided to pass this year for a few reasons. Foremost is that the registration costs are just too high now, IMO. It goes up every single year, and I think a hundred bucks for a ride (I do the 100-miler)—even though I know all the fruits pay handsome dividends in themselves—in this down economy with cautious spending, is just a bit too much for me (I talked to Bradley about this, and while I know most of the costs are for more aggressive fund raising, I hope it still attracts enough people to fill up the event). Hope to ride with you some time again. But I’d have a trailer with a little one in the back now.
