Guest guest
Hi folks, SF Animal Care & Control has unfortunately had an outbreak of ringworm (as has the SPCA). Ringworm (a fungal thing -- like athlete's foot) is not at all dangerous (unless someone has a compromised immune system) but is unfortunately quite contagious. The good news is that the SPCA is going to make available some room(s) in their old hospital where the kittens with ringworm can be kept and treated until they are ringworm-free. I am forwarding this email from ACC and Toni's Kitten Rescue re the great need for towels (the kittens need to be bathed and dipped on a regular basis, which uses up a lot of towels). They could also use volunteers and donations, of course! Please forward this as widely as possible to animal lovers in the San Francisco area who might be able to help -- if not with money and time, at least with TOWELS. Thanks much! Nadine. San Francisco Animal Care & Control is in desperate need of towels for the cats and dogs at the shelter. The animals would be grateful if you could take a moment to look in your bathroom or linen closet to see if you might have a few old towels that you could donate to help the animals. If you have unwanted towels, any size, ACC can take them off your hands and put them to good use. Please bring your clean old towels to: Animal Care & Control 1200 15th Street (at Harrison) Drop them off between hours of 11 & 6, if possible. Thank you for your support!
