Do you live in Barbara Lee's district and want to make a difference for animals?

Hi SFBaVeg,

I'm working with PCRM to get healthy, non-dairy vegetarian meals and non-dairy

beverages into the Child Nutrition Act (CNA) during it's renewal this year. We

need people to meet with members of Congress to convince them that this is a

smart choice to back.

I'm looking specifically for people who live in Congresswoman Barbara Lee's

district (here is a map of her district:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Ca09_109.gif. It's Oakland, Berkeley, and

parts of a few other cities, including Castro Valley). I'm having an important

meeting with Barbara Lee's office in downtown Oakland next Thursday, July 17th,

at 11 am and I need people to be there! Anyone who is passionate about the

issue is welcome to attend and we're particularly looking for teachers,

educators, parents, nutritionists, dietitians, doctors, nurses, and other health

experts. These meetings really do make a difference and we have the opportunity

to speak out for animals and children at the same time. Can you imagine how

amazing it would have been to have healthy vegetarian food as an option for

school lunch? Let's make this a reality for kids across the nation!

The meeting will take about 30 minutes. All you have to do show up and make a

short statement about how children would benefit from access to more fruits and

vegetables, non-dairy vegetarian meals and non-dairy beverages. If you want more

information about the campaign, you can either email me back or check out

www.healthyschoollunches.org.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and please let me know if you

(or anyone you know!) can attend or if you have any questions.

Best,

Laura Beck

p.s. If you can't make the meeting but are interested in writing a letter of

support, please let me know!
