Guest guest
Hello Alex and List, I am glad to hear you had a good vegan meal at ChickPea's. I went the first day they were open (it's only one block from my piano teacher and I was thrilled that there was a new veg place to try on my beaten path, although Cafe Gratitude and ChaYa, both favorites, are quite close, too) and sadly, had a very unsatisfactory experience. The restaurant had only been open for an hour and I was the only customer. I ordered hot soup. Despite that fact that I was the only person there for the duration of my visit, the soup did not arrive for 20 minutes and when the server brought it to my table, it was lukewarm/cold. The server did not apologize for the wait or the temperature of the soup. (I wondered if it was frozen at some point and thawed, but not properly heated, or if it was heated right away and the server didn't pick it up for 20 minutes; whatever the explanation, it was awful.) I did not have time to send it back, so it was a disappointing lunch; I just made a mental note never to eat there again ever. Maybe they got their act together since Day One. Guest guest
Bonnie,I've eaten there a few times since they opened, and never experienced anything like that. All my contacts with the owner and employees have been gracious, and all my food has arrived timely and in the right condition.I never judge a restaurant operation by how it is doing the first couple days, because it is usually the owner's first restaurant experience and also the first restaurant job for many of the workers. You really ought to give it another try now that they have shaken out the bugs and got things working well.Greg -------------- Original message from Bonbonsf: -------------- Hello Alex and List, I am glad to hear you had a good vegan meal at ChickPea's.
