Vegan/Vegtarian House looking for a 5th in Berkeley!

My friends and I have just acquired a house in South Berkeley (at the North

Oakland border - right by Nomad Cafe) and we need one more person. Our lease

starts on July 1st but you may begin moving in your things sooner. Rent will be

around $600 for the room that is available - probably a bit less actually but I

don't have the exact amount on me right now. I will update this part of the ad

later when I have this information.

 

The room for rent is at the back of the house. It shares one wall with the

kitchen and one wall with the living room. The door to the room is through the

living room. I would say that this room is small to medium in size. Also, it

does not have a closet if that is important to you. The house has a total of 4

bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (one of which is in the master suite), a huge kitchen

which I am stoked to start cooking and baking in soon, a living room and a

dining room. There is also a decent sized backyard where we plan to start

gardening and permaculture projects. There is a washer and drier and the

landlord will cover up to $100 of the water bill. We will pay for PGE and

internet.

 

About us:

- Mimi (that's me!) is nearly 24. She is a Cancer that loves cooking and baking

but that hates children. She's vegan and will be supplying the house with lots

of yummy baked goods. She's temping right now but eventually hopes to work for

an environmental nonprofit or business. She loves Berkeley!

 

- Anthony just turned 27. He is a Gemini. He's originally from Australia. He

works for various nonprofits but wants to start his own business soon. He will

be the one behind the backyard permaculture projects and he wants to see about

putting the bathrooms on a greywater system. He is vegetarian.

 

- Lisa is Anthony's girlfriend. She is 26 and a a Libra. She will live in the

master bedroom with Anthony but is away in Peru for the summer and won't return

to us until mid-August Anthony is looking for a roommate until then (and he will

actually be gone for a month of the summer also to Peru) so if you just need a

summer sublet then we have that as an option too. Cost of the sublet is $375/mo.

Lisa works as a mediator in Oakland and also does conflict resolution work. She

is vegetarian. She is really cool and we will miss her while she is away.

 

- Jessy is our 4th roommate that we found off of Craigslist. He works for an

environmental consulting firm in Walnut Creek and enjoys yoga.. He is vegan. We

do not know his sign.

 

About the house:

The house is vegetarian although you don't have to be vegetarian to live here...

just don't bring any meat into the house. We are your average Berkeley

household that uses all natural cleaning products. We aren't terribly 420

friendly though. A few times a year is okay but if you smoke much more than that

we won't be in to you as a housemate. Our lease starts on July 1st so we want a

roommate by then. Move in cost will be first month, last month and deposit.

 

Lisa eventually wants to get a small dog. I love cats, but Lisa is allergic to

them and the landlord hates them so we can't have any.

 

We have keys to the place and can meet up with you to show it to you pretty much

any evening this week. Anthony and I will be at the house this evening (6/23) to

sign the lease so if you want to meet us at 6:45 or later that is fine.
