Guest guest
I'm about to get off of a group health policy and am going to start looking for an individual policy soon. I was wondering if anyone here had advice on what plans/brokers/etc. to look at. I live in Oakland and am hoping to get into a plan that is supportive (or at least not dismissive) of alternative healthcare, like acupuncture, chiropractic, and herbs (which you'd think wouldn't be controversial, but ...). And, of course, supportive of a vegan diet! I really don't want to have a doctor tell me that they think meat is an important part of a healthy diet. I have not found a lot of good options for individual plans. I've even considered getting Kaiser, even though the idea of an HMO where I can't choose all my healthcare providers scares me (better than no coverage at all, though). If you have any advice, I'd love to hear it!FYI, I don't own a car, so I'm really looking for stuff I can get too easily from or in Oakland via public transportation. Thanks!Jen-Mei
