Hi All : )  I got this from the Humane Society.   For the animals!  Stephanie

Help Stop Two Forms of Animal Cruelty with One Call!

Dear Stephanie,

On Wednesday, the California Assembly Appropriations Committee will vote on two important pieces of legislation to protect animals from cruelty and abuse. AB 241 will reduce the suffering of dogs in puppy mills, where the animals are confined in cages without exercise, and treated not like family pets but like a cash crop. AB 1437 would require that all eggs sold in California be from cage-free hens, barring the sale of cruel " battery cage " eggs in the state starting in 2015. Last November, California voters overwhelmingly approved Proposition 2 to give hens in the state enough room to turn around and stretch their limbs, and this new legislation would apply the same standard to all eggs sold in the state.

Your state assemblymember, Nancy Skinner, sits on the committee and we need you to voice your strong support for both of these measures.

TAKE ACTIONPlease make a brief, polite phone call today or tomorrow to Assemblymember Skinner at (916) 319-2014 to urge support for A.B. 241 and AB 1437. When you call, be sure to leave your name and address so it is clear that you are a constituent. You can say:

" Hello my, name is [your name] and I live in [your town]. I'm calling to urge [Assemblymember's name] to vote in favor of both AB 241 and AB 1437. AB 241 would limit the number of dogs confined in large-scale puppy mill facilities, and AB 1437 would protect California consumers from the harmful effects of the sale of cruel eggs derived from caged hens. Please vote 'yes' on both AB 241 and AB 1437. "

After making your call, please send a follow up email to reaffirm your support for AB 241 (puppy mills) and AB 1437 (farm animal welfare). And be sure to share this message with your friends and family in California so they can take action, too.    Thank you for all you do for animals.
