Hi everyone,One of my absolute heroes -- someone who's done more for animals than virtually anyone who's ever lived (there might be half a dozen or so arguable exceptions) -- will be in town on Sunday: Bruce Friedrich of PETA will be speaking about effective advocacy at PETA's office right by Lake Merritt in Oakland. Bruce lives in DC, so this is a special treat.

Dear Nora, Bruce Friedrich has been

the mastermind behind some of PETA's most creative and

successful campaigns for the past 13 years. Before joining PETA,

he ran one of Washington, D.C.'s largest homeless shelters and

soup kitchens. Using his knowledge of animal rights, human

rights, and everything in between, Bruce is one of PETA's most

articulate and engaging spokespeople. Bruce will be sharing his

top tips, tricks, and tools of the trade in an exciting

presentation on effective advocacy, and you're invited!
