Guest guest
Great opinion article from last month's Chronicle .. I'm sure it was deliberate that they say plant-based diet and avoid the "v" word. "The No. 1 cause and cure of America's health care crisis is right under your nose - it's what you put in your mouth. " http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2009/03/17/ED3K16FAI8.DTL Cheers, Tammy My two cents, vegan-style .. - today or read it on GenerationV.org Don't miss out on these awesome Bay Area Vegetarians events! 04/26 Hike & Native Garden Vegan Food Party - Pacifica 05/02 Have a Heart, Go Veg Leafleting & Lunch - SF 05/03 Food for Thought Book Club: Animals Rights Philosophy & Picnic - SF 05/30 Veg Outreach & Education at Maker Faire - San Mateo County Fairgrounds
Guest guest
Yes, I read that article when it was printed, I guess I should have posted it to the list but I was being lazy, however, that is not the only thing that the Esselstyn Father and Son team are doing. Some of you may be aware that Caldwell's son is Rip Esselstyn, he is one of the Firemen at the Austin, TX Fire House where everyone went vegan. And at the radio network where I work at about the same time as the article appeared in the Chronicle we ran for one month a series of commercials produced by Rip Esselstyn for his book called " The Engine 2 Diet " . And in the commercials ( 12 of them ) he gives tips about living on a " Plant Based Diet " but also avoids the " V " word. If anyone is interested in hearing those commercials I saved all 12 and can easily send you one or two in MP3 Format.
