Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I am looking for someone to help us create and maintain a new website devoted to countering the increasing popularity of rabbit meat. I need help immediately, because of some upcoming events with rabbit meat being served. You can see the start of the idea here http://saveabunny.org/?q=node/5005 I can buy a website template and have it be built with Dreamweaver if anyone is proficient in that program. In Marin there is popular, local ranch called Devil's Gulch. They raise rabbits and other animals for meat and are directly responsible for the increase in rabbit meat being served in the bay area. http://www.devilsgulchranch.com/camp/animals.html Kuleto's restaurant in SF is having a special farm to table meal featuring rabbit meat from Devil's Gulch. I will be sending out an action alert and encourabing people to politely talk to Kuleto's and also review them on Yelp. Devil's Gulch is organic, "green", solar and wind -powered blah, blah blah, so they are popular fo rtheir slow food, locally raised meat concept. They are part of Marin Organics, Marin Agricultural Land Trust, etc. They are featured in all the green living magazines, etc. The place is run by a husband and wife team--mark and Miriam Pasternak. She is a veterinarian, so the animals are humanely euthanized, which takes away the ability to protest rabbit meat based on cruelty. I did have Marin Humane Society do a check and teh conditions for rabbits are OK. Devil's Gulch promotes themselves as an "educational " program for teaching kids about animal husbandry---think of them as a more green concept of 4H. They get sposored by all kinds of companies. Looks appealing, but animals still die. I have found that well-meaning people do not make the connection that "green" is not the same as "cruelty-free." So I bought the domain name greennotmean.com I have some god creative ideas already, but really need help to make them happen. Please help me speak up soon about rabbit meat! It's GROSS, not Green to eat rabbits. Marcy SchaafFounder, SaveABunnywww.saveabunny.org415-388-2790"A New Generation of Rabbit Rescue"Save A Bunny. Save A Life.
