Guest guest
Dalai Lama will speak on Peace through Compassion, at Greek Theater in Berkeley, Saturday April 25 at 2pm. When he spoke in SF in 2007 I made leaflets saying that Dalai Lama advocates vegetarianism, and asking Buddhists to stop eating animals. With the help of a few BAVeg activists, 2,000+ leaflets were distributed. When Karmapa (another prominent Tibetan Buddhist teacher, and a vegetarian) taught in Seattle last year, I made leaflets telling Buddhists that Karmapa would like them to become vegetarian. 1,000 leaflets were distributed, a BAVeg activist helped with that. I'll update the Dalai Lama vegetarian leaflet, and make that available for you to hand out. Or you can bring literature from BAVeg, PeTA, Vegan Outreach, it's all good. Leafleting will occur before the event, while people are waiting to get through the security check. They are lined up, moving slowly, it's easy to go along the line and hand out leaflets. After the talk, the crowd pours out all at once, it's much harder to leaflet then. If you would like to help, please contact me. Guest guest
Jordan, Leafleting about a veg*n diet is a great thing, but it is worthwhile noting that the Dalai Lama himself has spent very little of his life on a veg*n diet. I find this discouraging. http://www.ivu.org/people/writers/lama.html Greg >Dalai Lama will speak on Peace through Compassion, at Greek Theater in >Berkeley, Saturday April 25 at 2pm.
