Guest guest
Hi all! Just a reminder -- we have 9 planning to attend, and have room for a couple more since we had some late RSVP changes. Thanks, Tammy Bay Area Vegetarians has two book clubs; "The Vegan Book Club" reading fiction books, and this one, "Food For Thought Book Club", reading nonfiction books on the topics of vegetarianism, animal rights, and nutrition. While our sister book club, the Vegan Book Club may be full, we, The Food for Thought Book Club, welcome new members to join us for one selection or all. This month's selection is Striking at the Roots: A Practical Guide to Animal Activism by Mark Hawthorne. We are a supportive, low-key, and friendly group. Typically attendance is 10-12 people, with a core group of regulars, people who can only attend occasionally, and first-timers. Everyone is welcome to join us (both veg & non-veg), and we especially encouraging aspiring and new veg*ns to join us. Please note, in consideration of others, including our animal friends, all food and drink consumed during book discussions are vegan. According to this logic, we should not try to prevent people from murdering other people, since this has also been done since the earliest of times. - Isaac Bashevis Singer
