Guest guest
Hello BAV! This Sunday, January 18th, we're having a special event at the Oakland PETA office. Local activist Lisa Towell will give a presentation about Disaster Preparedness for Animals. While we all want to keep a positive outlook, it's just a matter of when, not if, an earthquake, fire or flood strikes the Bay Area again. If you share your home with companion animals, are you ready to meet their needs (and yours) in a disaster? Remember how horrible the animal situation was after Hurricane Katrina, and please, come learn what to do in an emergency! Join us on Sunday, January 18, at the Oakland office as guest speaker Lisa shares important tips on caring for animals during emergencies, including demonstrations of useful techniques that could save an animal's life. Lisa will be here from 2 to 4 p.m. We'll have a take-home list of supplies for your animal disaster kit, and you'll find out how to volunteer as a disaster responder for animals. We will also be serving complimentary vegan appetizers and beverages. There is no charge for this event, and everyone is invited. Directions to our office will be sent to you when you RSVP to me. Thanks and Happy New Year! Alex
