Guest guest Posted December 13, 2009 Report Share Posted December 13, 2009 Black-Eyed Pea Soup 6 slices veg bacon, heated and crumbled 2 tsps oil 1 onion, finely chopped 1 clove garlic, minced 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 4 oz. chopped green chiles 4 (151/2 oz.) cans black-eyed peas, undrained 2 (141/2 oz.) cans veg broth or 4 cups veg broth 10 oz. can diced tomatoes and green chiles Add onion, garlic, salt, pepper and chilies to oil. Saute until onion is golden. Add veg bacon and remaining ingredients. Increase heat to medium-high and bring to boil; then remove from heat.
