Hello Vegetarian and Spicy Veg cooks! To the members of both groups, sorry in

advance about the cross-post but as the reasons I joined these groups are pretty

much the same I am taking the easy way out and posting my introduction to both

now... killing two tofurkeys with one stone, perhaps.

 

My name is Laura, I'm 25, not a vegetarian currently but have been in the recent

past and also considering becoming one again someday. I like firm tofu but not

mushy, I love tempeh - especially marinated and baked or stir-fried, and I think

Brassica oleracea is the most amazing food-plant. I try to eat relatively

locally, except for my banana-a-day addiction, and I love it when the

berry-producing Rubus species (i.e. blackberry, raspberry, salmonberry and

thimbleberry) here in Portland Oregon are fruiting.

 

I don't cook much unless you count making toast, but my boyfriend, who has been

vegetarian for many years, has a pretty deft hand in the kitchen. Hopefully he

will let me steal a few of his (and my) favorite recipes to share with you, and

I'm looking forward to seeing what other delicious recipes are out there!
