Guest guest Posted November 9, 2009 Report Share Posted November 9, 2009 4 medium granny smith apples, sliced should be around 4 cups when done 3/4 c packed dark or light brown sugar 1/2 c flour 1/2 c old fashioned oats 1/3 c butter or margarine, softened 1/w teaspoon cardamom 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon 3/4 tsp ground nutmeg Heat oven to 375 degrees, grease bottom and sides of 8-inch square pan with shortening (I used cooking spray) spread apples in pan. In medium bowl, stir remaining ingredients until well mixed; sprinkle over apples.Bake about 30 mins or until topping is golden brown and apples are tender when pierced with a fork.
