Guest guest Posted October 6, 2008 Report Share Posted October 6, 2008 Sassy Savory Spaghetti Sauce 3 tablespoons Olive Oil 1 medium Onion, diced 2 large Garlic cloves, minced 1 Jalapeno, chopped 5 cups chopped ( 3 - 15oz cans crushed or chopped) Tomatoes 1 - 4 oz can Tomato Puree 1/2 cup coarsely chopped fresh Basil leaves 1/4 teaspoon Oregano 1/4 teaspoon Rosemary 1/2 teaspoon Salt -or - 1/4 tsp Salt Sub 1 teaspoon Sugar 1 teaspoon Hot Sauce - your choice 16-ounce package Spaghetti or Spaghettini, Angel Hair, etc. whatever pasta you have on hand. In 4+ quart saucepan over medium heat, in hot oil, cook onion, pepper and garlic 5 minutes, stirring so it doesn't burn. Add chopped tomatoes, basil, oregano, sugar, salt and hot pepper sauce, puree. Over high heat, heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low; simmer, uncovered, 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Meanwhile, cook spaghetti according to package directions.
